SUP Yoga for Beginners w/ Intermediate Poses

Hot Fusion Teacher Training 2018

Vibe Yoga's Hot Fusion blends Hot Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga into one practice. The focus from Vinyasa Yoga is that of placing a sequence in a special order while threading in the static structure from Hot Yoga traditions. This training is ideal if you are interested in surrounding yourself in a learning environment, building tools to become an instructor, or are a current yoga or fitness instructor looking for continuing education.

This course will meet for 44 contact hours and will also require 16 non-contact hours of study.

Beginning SUP Paddle + Floating Meditation

This is your introduction to the Stand Up Paddle Board. After this class you will know how to safely get on a board, the best tips for standing & maintaining balance, stance modifications for wind and rough water, proper stroke, grip and hand placement, how to get back on the
board in the event you fall off and how to slow down and return to the dock. We’ll practice our paddle skills on our way to a quiet spot & drop our anchors for a long meditation on water. The playlist changes every moment as birds chirp, fish jump & frogs sing. Time on water is 1 hour.

Happy Hips

Usually when we talk about muscle memory, we are referring to the patterns that become ingrained in the body through continuous use and activity, but some yogis believe that we store memories, emotions, and even past traumas in our muscles as well. They say that by releasing the muscles in and around the hips and pelvis (say, in a yoga practice), we can bring on emotional and spiritual break-throughs.
 
Maybe you buy it, maybe you don’t, but whether you’re a super-active runner or a semi-sedentary desk-jockey, chances are your hips could use some relief and release. This workshop will focus on releasing deep tension through a vigorous, targeted warm-up and standing series, and then a long yin-style surrender series. Poses will engage and release the hip/pelvis/2nd chakra area (flexors, ab/adductors, psoas, etc.).

In this class participants will paddle to a quiet cove and drop anchors (provided) for a beginning yoga sequence on the board. Poses are modified to adapt to the instability of the board and increase the your experience on the water. You will experience a full class from opening grounding and breathing to final relaxation. Let the music of nature be your playlist in this practice. (Time on water is 75 min).

This class will be similar to Monday’s beginning SUP class however in lieu of a floating meditation, we’ll take more time to practice turns around obstacles, enhance our stroke technique and practice some HITT intervals on the water. Time on water is 1 hour.

Empowered Intention: Creating Rituals to Support Life Off The Mat

Intentions are often used in yoga practices to keep us anchored in the moment and to add potency to the practice. Unlike goals, intentions encourage us to work to support our big 'S', Self. This practice not only aids us on our mats, but can help to shape and influence how we are being in our daily lives.

In this workshop, we will explore intentions and create rituals to help support integrating these intentions into (busy) daily lives. Participants will receive crystals that are specifically designed to anchor intention and will create personal rituals designed to create mindfulness in even the busiest of schedules.

* We recommend you have some experience practicing yoga on land prior to trying for the first time on water.

SUP Yoga for Beginners

THU Date: 08/23/2018 - 08/23/2018 From: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

In this class participants will paddle to a quiet cove and drop anchors (provided) for a beginning yoga sequence on the board. Poses are modified to adapt to the instability of the board and increase the your experience on the water. You will experience a full class from opening grounding and breathing to final relaxation. Let the music of nature be your playlist in this practice. (Time on water is 75 min).

Beginning SUP Paddle + Paddle Fit

THU Date: 08/30/2018 - 08/30/2018 From: 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

This class will be similar to Monday’s beginning SUP class however in lieu of a floating meditation, we’ll take more time to practice turns around obstacles, enhance our stroke technique and practice some HITT intervals on the water. Time on water is 1 hour.
