The asana practice is loaded with poses named after gods and goddesses. The tales, lore, and symbolism that surround these deities can offer deep meaning and connection to the practice.

Once you have learned about the deities, you will use their stories as a vehicle to deliver deeply personal and meaningful classes, creating stories meant to empower, enlighten, and inspire your students.

If you are a yoga teacher looking to craft deliberate and deep themes or are simply looking to learn more about the richness of this practice, this training is for you.

Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga

SUN Date: 07/28/2019 - 07/28/2019 From: 8:15 am - 10:30 am

SUP Yoga Experience Overview:

In this 2+ hour experience, you will learn paddle board basics: launching, docking, turning and slowing down. You will also learn how to stand up- but if that is holding you back, don’t let it! You can paddle from a seated or kneeling position! You must, however, be able to swim.

As a student, you can expect time to paddle, the opportunity to play in the various yoga poses, and a floating meditation. This class is perfect for any yogi, no matter what their SUP experience as most of the yoga poses have a lower center of gravity and multiple contact points with the board, and modifications are offered through out the practice. However, being mindful of your transitions is essential in this practice and is a great reminder for even the most experienced yogi!

The beauty of this practice speaks for itself as soon as you launch onto the water. The playlist is different every class depending on which birds choose to sing. Expect to see blue herons and kingfishers. If you’re lucky, you’ll hear an owl or two!

*Boards, paddles, anchors and life jackets are provided and included in cost.

**This class meets in Griffy parking lot by Griffy Lake at 8:15am. We will have a short land lesson then launch around 8:30am and return to shore by 10:30am.

Instructions + Additional Information:

-Please come with the proper amount of sunscreen already applied.

-Sunglasses are great for the paddle but more challenging during the yoga practice, but it’s up to you.

-The less you carry with you, the better your experience.

-Your instructor will carry your car keys.

-Leave everything else in the car except a water bottle.

-Each board comes equipped with a bungee strap in front. Under there you can stow your water and flip flops.

-We practice barefoot! Just like the yoga mat.

Rituals & Rights: The Right to Love

WED Date: 08/07/2019 - 08/07/2019 From: 6:45 pm - 7:45 pm

The chakra system contains vital information about how we function, grow, and experience patterns in our lives. While there are many ways to access this information, exploring the rights associated with each can be a powerful tool. In this series, we will explore various practices and rituals to work intentionally with each right.

This month, we will explore the right to LOVE. The fourth chakra is a powerful center that serves as the middle point between our lower (body centered) chakras and our upper (spiritually centered) chakras. This chakra concerns itself with our ability to connect and experience love. During this workshop, we will work with crystals, essential oils, yoga postures, and techniques in order to tap into this power center.
