This class will amplify and celebrate our community of practitioners as we flow together with rhythmic breathing and deliberate beats. A moving meditation fostered through Vinyasa Yoga, this class will provide repetition in each sequence so that the student may explore a meaningful and deliberate experience with the group and on their own. To symbolize the all encompassing word BHAKTI (love, devotion, dedication, to share) we will learn chants that students may chant or listen to before and after class together. This class will be physically challenging to the individuals choice, having some yoga experience is encouraged.

Fewer postures are visited for longer periods of time allowing the student to focus on breathing into the connective tissue that surrounds the joints in the body. After years of neglect and abuse the connective tissue may become "shrink-wrapped" and needs to be stretched gently without muscular contractions. This class is designed to balance your practice giving you ample time to breath into long stretches and move towards balance in our hectic day to day lives.

It has been said that our children don't always do as we say, but they will become mirrors of what we do. There is a great truth to this, and a wonderful opportunity to show them how much fun a consistent yoga practice adds to our lives. This class will be light in heart and full of life. Children will learn breathing techniques to help them calm their bodies and minds. They will experience a yoga sequence that is active but will conclude with Savasana. Parents or care givers can enjoy taking a yoga class while children are beginning a practice all of their own.  Ages: 7-14

In this class you will chant, flow, slow and still.

Chant- we will experience advanced pranayama practices through chanting to open up the internal channels of the body
Flow- we will flow through the Yang aspects of energy through active and dynamic flow of breath and postures building heat in the body
Slow- after flowing, we'll take the body through an advanced balancing sequence that will integrate introspection into the body.
Still-as the class winds down, we will segway into the Yin aspects of passive, grounding poses

This class is a gateway class for those who are looking for more stillness in their practice by physically exerting to prepare the body and mind to receive the benefits of Yin.

This all-levels vinyasa flow class endeavors to create an inclusive community space in which all bodies, identities, expressions, and abilities are celebrated. We’ll keep the language and practice neutral and accessible as we meditate, chant, and flow.

7:00 PM - 8:15 PM Chakra Flow (INT)

Chakra Flow is designed for the yoga practitioner who wants to creatively explore energetic activations in yoga poses through an exploration of the chakra system. Each week we will focus on one chakra and explore the specific energies through pranayama, meditation, bija sounds, or mantras, asana, and meditation. We will start with the Root Chakra and move up the system to the Crown Chakra for seven weeks, and then we will repeat. Chakra Flow is an all levels class and is geared toward the yogi wanting to deepen their understanding of body alignment and their consciousness that supports their physical anatomy.

In this workshop, we will be exploring what really happens to our bodies during the normal aging process. We will look at the anatomical and physiological changes that are occurring in the 50+ age group and how best to support these changes within our yoga practice. The information discussed will be supported with current evidence- based studies from both medical and yoga literature.
 
Topics addressed will include how the body normally ages; discussion on common medical conditions; how to design an appropriate and safe yoga class for special populations such as osteoporosis, arthritis, balance issues, joint replacements; and the use of mudra and pranayama practices to support healthy aging.
 
This workshop will be interactive with several group practices lead by the instructor focusing on class design for healthy aging yoga. Participants will also have the opportunity to work in groups on case studies to help facilitate the learning process.
 
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will have a better understanding of how to design and modify their yoga classes/own practices to best utilize yoga for healthy aging and to work with special senior populations.
 
Laurie Riggins, DPT teaches Align & Restore Yoga at Vibe Yoga & Pilates Studio and Mindful Body Yoga Therapy at IU Health, a program she developed for those with cancer and chronic disease. She presently lectures at IU in the School of Public Health and has taught Anatomy & Physiology and Structural Kinesiology to pre-nursing students Ivy Tech Bloomington campus. She is a regular Laurie presenter for Vibe Yoga 200 hr and 500 hr Yoga Alliance teacher’s trainings. Laurie completed her 1000 hour yoga therapist training with Joseph and Lilian Le Page through IYT at Kripalu in Massachusetts and has studied with Nancy Schalk of Heartland Yoga Therapy in Indianapolis. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapist and Yoga Alliance. Laurie has recently turned 50 and so this topic is near and dear to her heart.

12:00 AM - 12:00 AM 500 Hour Teacher Training ~ Start of Fast Track

We will be offering this certification as a modular training which means that you may choose the modules that best fit your schedule and your desired areas of interest. This training can be completed within one year or you may take up to five years to complete all necessary modules. How do the modules work? We have put together mini-courses instructed by local experienced instructors or international guest instructors we host at the studio. The courses will generally run between 3 and 4 days for approximately 22 hours each module. ( on occasion hours may vary depending on teacher and studio availability ) There are guidelines for you to follow, but within those course categories you may choose what segments you prefer and when to attend. Most modules will be open to the public so there will be a mix of dedicated students and experienced instructors. If you take the module as a student and later want to apply it towards a 500hr certification, it can be retroactively applied as long as all course work is completed within five years. All modules must be completed at Vibe Yoga Studio. Courses will be offered once or twice a year.

In this class you will focus on the fundamentals of alignment, refining your technique and building a strong foundation with both postures (asanas) and breath work (pranayama). This class is perfect for those new to yoga, individuals healing from injury or illness, or those looking for a more gentle class.

This Power Yoga class is for intermediate and advanced practitioners. We will visit vigorous vinyasa sequences, explore inversions, deepen through twists and binds, and invite static balancing postures.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM $5 Power Vinyasa (ALL LEVELS)

Because we want yoga to be accessible to the masses, we've elected to continue our $5 community classes for the fall. Great for beginners or those looking to explore other classes that we offer.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM Slow Flow (ALL LEVELS)

This class will focus on how to move with calm energy through a Vinyasa Flow practice. Offering time to discover your breath and body awareness as you move through space. This class is perfect for those looking to release tension from the day and discover the peace and ease that can be found on your mat.

5:15 PM - 6:15 PM Sculpt (INT)

Designed for new practitioners and athletes alike, this class incorporates free weights to bolster the strength-training potential of yoga. A total body workout, this class "sculpts" every major muscle group. We'll flow through sun salutations and hold postures with weights. Modifications are taught to help you master the fundamentals of the postures and create strength to build your practice on.


5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Hot Fusion (ALL LEVELS)

A blended class, this class combines the traditional twenty-six Hot Yoga postures with complementary hatha yoga postures. Students will not only enjoy the benefits of a Hot Yoga class but also improve their hip opening, upper body toning, and core strengthing . Come prepared to sweat! This class is taught in a hot and humid room . If you're a traditional Hot Yoga student who wants to deepen your practice this class is for you, but all are welcome. This class is accessible to every student, but some foundational yoga experience is helpful.

5:30 PM - 9:30 PM Yoga for Healthy Aging (Register Under the Event Tab)

This 4 hour workshop is appropriate for students and teachers alike. We will be exploring each of the major body systems and learning what really happens during the normal aging process so that we can better appreciate and care for the 50+ body.
